On the fence

I may move to Tumblr permanently because photo uploading there is a BREEZE!

But, Tumblr doesn't come with a colour palette and text size selection.

I can't have the best of both worlds, can I? :/

P.S. Surprisingly, I look good in orange! :D

Driven by mere curiousity.

Thus the set up of my Tumblr account.

You can find me at stephaniechin.tumblr.com as I won't be able to constantly update here. This is my long posts blog, and that my current thoughts and stuff.

Here's my shopping wishlist:
  1. Bright coloured bead necklaces
  2. Long leggings in as many colours as possible
  3. Shoes
  4. Shorts

The thing I like about leggings is that they can be very cheap! I get my 3/4 leggings for less than RM10. And I transformed my ancient childhood floral pants into 3/4 flares :)

It looks cool!

Oh, and I need more colourful accessories to preserve my youthful dressing. Silver is SO passe.

Bargain shopping can be really fun! I want to find cheaaaap shorts. It shall be my aim for tomorrow ;)

Goodbye!

Finding the balance of life.

Work hard, play hard.

Its been ages since I last updated. I was busy, busy and busy.
Busy with my schoolwork, work and leisure.

Had a little boyfriend trouble yesterday and the previous night but we made up :)

He spent 4.5 hours at my place today tutoring me :D

I am mentally drained right now but my happy meter is overflowing! We had takeaway dinner of Thai fried rice (which my parents kindly offered to buy) in the dining room of my house. I can't imagine a better way to spend a Saturday evening.

Lower Six had to attend school today to make sure that the Pertandingan Deklemasi Sajak ran smoothly. Its better that the stupid gotong royong last Saturday. I have enough of longkangs!

Stupid longkangs. My class (a pitiful group of 6 and Mabel) were in charge of cleaning up the drains surrounding the school hall and other connecting drains. It was an endless maze of drains. The stench could kill. Poor Ying Hau got a faceful of drain water. Eew. I'd just wilt and DIE if I were in his shoes. The germs, oh gosh!

I HATE LONGKANGS, period.

Us Form Sixes are being exploited. First the longkangs and now the cheap labour. I'm in Food Department for today's event, so I curi makan the fishballs. Then teacher asked everyone else (the working force) to eat the remaining food. So I had 7 fishballs altogether.

I don't think I can look at fishballs for a week now :/

Yesterday evening I attended Adam the musical. It was awesome! So stop asking us how it was, Miaw. The singing was amazing; dancing, amusing, entertaining; and storyline enticing. The band was great, too! The string section sounded very good! Especially in their solo bits.

I had a great week. Busy, nonetheless. My first driving lesson was a nightmare. I almost swerved into cars and banged stuff. Well, I would have if my driving instructor hadn't stepped on his emergency brake (seeing how hopeless I was with the whole clutch-brake sequence). I have poor motor skills. But sufficient enough for me to remain alive whilst in full control of a vehicle, I suppose.

Okay I'll stop for now because I need to catch up with my sleep and recharge myself for a long fulfilling day ahead. Which means that my schedule includes a lot of studying. Gambateh kudasai to myself!

Feel the pressure.

I need to excel. I need to perform.

I cannot slack.

If it means going for tuition for all subjects, I'll do it. I'm not one to wait for spring.

Coping must not be a problem. But staying in top form is.

I had to cut down on my workload, with much regrets.

My future is at stake here, and my mom will be the first one to remind me of that.

I'll begin studying starting tomorrow. I'll be a changed person the next time you see me.

Nerds are cool.

I want to join that cult, that's for sure!

School updates!

Yesterday was briefing day.

Today is RATHER similar, if you don't add on the cleaning duties and PKS stuff.

Our class is air conditioned!!
Which is oh-so-cool~~

There are 6 students in my class (L6F, if you're interested), and I am
wakil LAS. Again!!

Hahahaha!! Class committee elections grew so boring that we just volunteered ourselves for the positions in the end (this is how I got my LAS rep). 4 of my classmates had to hold double posts as there were far too little students xD
Thank goodness I am not one of them...

This occurrence has never happened before in Form One till Form Five. Form Six is a totally new thing altogether. For one, we get air-con!
Which was so cold that I shivered. But hey, it'll be really helpful during midday!

I feel like war dancing to this fact already x)

And we get tuition sized classes in school, FOC!

We also get to sit in a row, so basically everyone in my class sits in the first row. Since there is only one row. Well, we sit in 3s, so I'm sitting with Hon Lian and Ying Hau. My classmates all came from Chen Moh. What a coincidence! So we all know each other :D

Our last session of the day is our PKS duty. It was scheduled in the timetable that we have to help out Mr. Chan. I did so half heartedly because the weather was hot. Still, my progress was faster than those boys who kept on ogling at photos of Form 4 girls (we were sorting out last year's KH folios).

Anyway, the downside to my Form Six life is that my stupid skirt has a microscopic pocket, so I can barely fit my stuff inside. Also that I can't make it to my first period Wednesday class (TTC) in future because of sucky R&D.

Also, Form 6 is really, really tough. I doubt I can make it through -- alive.

After school I went shopping at Mid Valley with Kar Yee, Hui Sin and my family. Starting tomorrow we'll be having lessons so this is my last chance to let down my hair and enjoy. It was fun!!! And later I'll be looking forward to meeting my boyfriend for dinner.

Awesome day indeed! :D

Exhausted to the core.

I AM SO SO WORN OUT.

After a grueling 6 hours in school, I rushed to TTC to print notes and prepare for my class. After class, to my dismay, the initially scheduled extra class was cancelled. There were students. I panicked and photocopied exercises and went home. I did not call Wan Siang's mom to tell her that there was no class but if Wan Siang stayed on we would give him something to do, as instructed by You Hang because I could not see the point of doing so (he would be doing something anyway if he stayed on or go home and rest if he didn't) and because my dad was waiting VERY IMPATIENTLY for me to go home.

Everything in my department is a total mess. So much for session synchronization. We are not synchronized AT ALL. Form 5 is at session 1 whilst the other forms are doing revision. Why why why should I sweat so much?

This one time I don't tie up everyone's ends, everything turns chaotic. My presence is not that important, and I am in no way trying to indicate so. But really, I give up trying to salvage ANY situation. I need a break. I need to go school. Form 6 is no joke. I don't want to be overly depended on.

I'm gonna take a bath. I stink so bad I can't believe myself.

DIY

I didn't manage to purchase or borrow a skirt as planned. Because the shops either 1) did not sell Form Six uniforms or 2) weren't open.

It was then I suddenly remembered that I have old pinafores which my sister would not likely use...

My mom, sister and I got down to work. A sharp scissors from my aunt came to our aid.

Voila! Now I have my skirt :D

This is the damage. My sister's handiwork ;D

We only mutilated one pinafore. I hope that I need not get down to the next x)

Back to school!

I shall be requiring uniforms, white socks and school shoes.

Perhaps I can find my old shoes when I rummage through those ancient shoe boxes. The thing is I still have to teach after school. A change of clothes is a must bring on Monday.

The excitement of going back to school is coming to me. I wonder who will be my new classmates and teachers. Its the same thing each year, actually :)

I just came back from Mao's party at Yewho's house. I am so damn tired. My eyes are less than half open right now. Goodnight.

Cranky's birthday ;)

Hello, world!

I had attended the scholarship interview and it was not that great. Which is bummer because I think that it'd be awesome to get it. The scholarship value is between RM75,000 - RM150,000 and it will hold out till I get my degree in Interior Architecture. So it basically covers four years of my tertiary education, which means that I need not worry about my education needs in future.

Awesome, no?

I have myself to blame if I don't get it because I do not know an ounce about the university, seeing as how I did not bother to find out more, as previously I had no intention to take this offer.

Limkokwing university doesn't exactly make me jump for joy, but what the heck, its education! Furthermore it involves a field which invokes my interest...

Fingers crossed about today's interview! I want to be a degree holder, not just graduate with a diploma *coughAlfacough*. It does not quite cut it, in my opinion.

***

This morning is the last time I'll be teaching my Form 1s and Form 2s, because I'll be going to school starting next week! Therefore I had lunch with those pesky Form 1s at Kanna. Not my treat, of course! Sadly, I don't earn enough per student to be able to treat them to a full lunch.

Dear was only coming back in the evening so instead of rotting away during the afternoon, I corrected papers and did my notes. After something went wrong with my notes, I got pissed and decided to call it a day with my work.

It was Desperate Housewives time!

I boiled laptop television for 3 hours (I think! xD) in the afternoon at TTC's basement! It has a homey feel to it, with the couch and the collapsible workstation. And the SILENCE. Silence is golden at TTC. Even Midas couldn't get the entire TTC to shut up. There is noise in every corner. And that can really get on your nerves.

Today I am in an extra good mood, and I can't put a finger to why is that so. When dear arrived (finally!) I treated him to a chocolate bar to boost those endorphins as he was gloomy over the fact that he had to teach later at night to substitute Soo Ling, who is down with fever.

Then we went to A&W for our long awaited bear meal (my treat for the boyfriend). I heart curly fries and root beer floats! We shared a banana split after that -- it was my VERY FIRST TIME having a banana split, and it tasted absolutely heavenly!

It was just... WOW. It was satisfaction and love rolled into a happy happy day. He entered class looking happier than he did when he arrived, and I went about to find something constructive to do.

What Kai Zhuang and Hua Chern were doing caught my attention ;) ;)

They were making felt items -- Kai Zhuang, a dolphin and Hua Chern, a bright pink handphone pouch adorned with white felt stars. It looked so cool and fun that I decided to join in :D

I decided to make a stuffed felt butterfly. The idea pleased me so, and I began selecting colours to start on my project. I decided to use red and pink for the body... *sews the pieces together*

After a looooonnng time, I was done stuffing my butterfly. I was pretty disappointed to discover that it didn't look like a butterfly. AT ALL! It just looked like a weird shape. So there I was, holding up weird shape at all angles, trying to decide at which angle it actually resembled something, if not anything at all :/

It did not take me long to give up trying to make weird shape look like anything else. It looked plain, sad and pathetic. Glancing over at Hua Chern's progress made me feel like wincing. It was his first project and it looked awesome. His stitches were neat and tidy and mine just... OH WELL LET'S JUST LEAVE IT HERE. Of course he had put in plenty of effort in it. FIVE HOURS is a huge feat and a display of determination for any guy!

Since weird shape was a doomed project, a feeble attempt anyway, I decided to add on stuff to make it look the part better. I gave weird shape two HUGE eyes (they took A LOT of time) and a smiley mouth (an afterthought, because the eyes looked plain scary).

The thing is, weird shape actually looked cute !!!

I'm gonna upload photos of it soon. I promise. Because I gave weird shape to my boyfriend as a gift. And named it Cranky (because of its eyes xD). Dear loved it so much that he began giggling.

A guy. Giggling.

He had to cover his face with a pillow to hide his embarrassing giggly moment. Of course I felt extremely pleased that my poor handiwork was appreciated so much! I then tried hanging Cranky onto my bag and pencil case (out of pure curiosity) and the result was...

FANTABULOUS.

Anyway, the point here is that I sooooo succeeded in cheering him up! What a great feat and accomplishment for today! This is also proof of what a caring and doting girlfriend I can be :D :D

Doing nothing day

I woke up at 12pm today.

This is such a HUGE change from my usual routine.

I didn't do anything constructive today (unless you count washing my keyboard protector xD), and am NOT planning to. I just feel like relaxing.

I plan to watch Desperate Housewives later. I can watch it from my bed -- anywhere. This having a laptop thing is so awesome, man.

Tomorrow morning I have to go to Limkokwing for the scholarship interview. I hope that I can make it back in time for classes. If they hold me for too long I plan to walk off anyway, seeing that I am not interested in the scholarship they are offering me. The college is too far from home, and will post up plenty of inconvenience.

Next Monday I'm going back to CHS for -- can you believe this? -- ORIENTATION DAY.

Yup, yours truly is going to do Form 6 whilst waiting for my other scholarship interview results. I am going to be clad in a school uniform once more. It is by far a more economical option than A levels.

Yesterday was killer, by the way. I have so many essays to correct. And some of them really drove me nuts. I literally had to rewrite their essays for them, can you believe it??!

But still, its my job. I shall now cease complaining.

Dear taught me how to play Minesweeper yesterday. Its quite a cool game! But I'm still a newbie (and not one with superspeed progression rate :/) therefore my winning percentage is 15%.

That sucks.

Hasty update, sorry to disappoint!

ワイーイソ

This is your name in Japanese Katakana, Wai Yeen. It is read as wa-i-i-n. Don't break it down to syllables when you read it lah, of couse. My name is read as Stephanie also in Japanese. There you go!

I am very malang one wor. I didn't get a lot of things I applied for. But never mind, there are still many many options for me out there! I'm gonna inquire about Form Six and whilst waiting for those interview results I'll just sit there.

Hello, Chemistry!! *GASPS IN HORROR*

I. Am. Doomed.

Miaw's hair looks weird. Sorry my dear :/

I wanna watch Desperate Housewives. It is like, a wish of mine that is never fulfilled. I'm gonna start right now :D
